Advantages: Few
Disadvantages: Underpowered for 5hp, does not clear "Untamed areas", grass tangles round line head
The Lawn-King Website describe the WT4000 as: "The more powerful WT4000 has a 55cm (22") cutting swath, perfectly suited to clearing larger, flatter areas. ? 55cm cutting swath ? Powerful 5hp Tecumseh engine ? Large 35cm (14") diameter wheels ? Quad-line head ? Robust construction ? Ideal for clearing large untamed areas." The machine seems to be underpowered, and even with it's 14'' wheels, pushing it over anything other than a flat, "bowling green" surface, is hard work. It grinds to a halt when clearing tangled meadow grass, and should there be weeds mixed in, the engine does not cope with what on would expect of 5hp. Long grass gets tangled round the cutting head, and chaff soon blocks the Engine cooling intake, which has to be cleared during use. The identification plate suggests that the engine speed is 3400rpm, which I would doubt, and there is no provision for increasing the speed. Even though this model is advertised as having a 22'' cut, there is a sticker on it saying 20''. Increasing the line length to 22'', makes matters worse by reducing the available power. Lawn King are not available for query, other than through Dealers, who, of course, can only say what they have been told to say.
