“ Manufacturer: Qualcast / Product Type: Trimmer / Fuel Type: Electric „
I have small but hilly uneven gardens so strimmers are an absolute necessity for me. For years and years I had a very trusted well known brand and was absolutely gutted when the motor finally broke. I did a bit of research online and purchased this strimmer. My only positive comments can be that it was easy to put together and does cut the grass. Unfortunatley I found it to be extremely heavy and difficult to manouvere (I'm a 5 ft 4 female). Even though the strimmer is meant to be lightweight and the handle is adjustable I still think it is only suitable for taller (and stronger) people, more specifically 'men'. I know this can be a problem with strimmers but I also spent 90% of the time pulling the spool back through (and getting very dirty hands and very stressed out). The spool casing eventually crumbled and fell apart, so not a very long lasting product. Luckily the product was still within guarantee and I was able to replace it with a better quality brand which I have been more than happy with.
Yes, I admit, I have neglected my lovely patch of wilderness of late, otherwise known as my garden. As we don't have a shed and would have nowhere to store a lawn mower my only option was to purchase a trimmer. I had attempted hacking with shears but as anyone knows, this is backbreaking work. So after lengthy research I finally settled on the Qualcast Trimmer. With a little help from my father-in-law in putting it together (it seems simple enough but I know men enjoy these things!) I was finally ready to tackle the knee high grass in my garden that had been steadily threatening to exacerbate hay fever for all across the whole of South London! I've never used a trimmer before and although it was rather heavy I soon got down to business and am pleased to report my garden is now usable again, grass mowed and now I just have to find somewhere to store a rake!
