I bought my husband a garden strimmer for his birthday (that's how rock and roll we are!). He didn't want me to spend a lot of money on one, because he doesn't see the point, but we did need one pretty sharpish to replace the one that conveniently went kaput at the start of this summer. I settled on this Qualcast one because it was available with a third off in Argos.
Overall I would say that we are pretty pleased with this one, although it is not quite perfect. I'll kick off with the reason that it is not perfect and that is the fact that it is not very long. This isn't such a big deal for me but it is a bit more of a challenge for my six foot tall husband. The other slight problem with it is that it only has a five metre cord length, which means we have to plug in to a decent length extension cord so that we can reach the end of our reasonably average sized garden.
Onto the good stuff. It has a bump feed which means that you just have to tap the bottom of it to feed some more line through. It is quite a funky feature (and one that our old strimmer didn't have). It is cheap. I only paid around eleven pounds for it with the discount but even at full price it is only £20 which is decent value for money I would say. It is very lightweight, which means that it is easy to use.
Overall I would recommend the trimmer.
