I bought this trimmer a few weeks ago and it has been used constantly every since, I am out in the garden every time we get a non rainy day. I started off this year with a mass of weeds and dandelions, my old strimmer couldnt cut the mustard, the line snapped every few minutes leaving me with a patience that finally snapped. I went online and found this Ryobi trimmer, had never heard of the make before but what drew me to it was that it had a pro cut head as well as the normal. I received my new trimmer about four days later and it was thankfully a non rainy day so I could get straight into the garden to give it a trial run. Of course my rockery that had turned into the worlds largest dandelion patch was first to be attacked, within ten minutes I had cleared the whole lot, no line snapping whatsoever!! It was so easy to use, a child could have managed it, although please bear in mind it is not a good plan to let your child loose with any kind of electrical equipment!! After clearing the dandelions, I then of course had to clear the debris and get the roots out by hand, but the initial clearance had made the job so so so much easier. I then ventured to the rear of the garden, my garden has a fence along the back border, however, on the other side of the fence is a stream and then lots of trees, hawthorns, elderflower, blackberry bushes and blackcurrant bushes, all very overgrown and of course with the good stuff comes the baddies, the 10 foot high nettles and brambles with stems about 2 inches thick!! A lot of these baddies snake their way into the garden throughout the summer and trying to get rid of them is a very tricky thing to do, being as I have a lot of clematis growing along the fence, to get in and cut these horrors off I am constantly in danger of cutting the things that I want to keep. I also get masses and masses of bind weed. I have so far, with my Robi, practiced on some of the bind weed and nettles, with the pro cut head I could position it so that only the weed was decapitated and not my flowering clematis!! This has been a major asset to my gardening equipment because these weeds are the bane of my life.
After attacking weeds it was time to cut the grass, due to having curved borders, plus a water feature that has slate chipping around the edge, there is always a lot of edging to do when I have finished, with the pro cut head on my Ryobi trimmer, I had trimmed around the entire garden and also the water feature in about 15 minutes, this as opposed to the usual 2 hours on bended knee with the edging shears!! So its goodbye backache and hello weed free garden :-)
