Sony VCT 1170RM ... you happen to own a Sony camcorder you might be interested to learn that you can buy one of these to go with it. The reason the 1170RM is brand specific is that it combines a fully featured fluid head tripod with a remote control arm with camera controls on it for easier access. The tripod itself consists of the usual three sections, extendable aluminium legs with a quick-lock brace and rubber feet. However, the feet aren t ball jointed which may hinder it on uneven surfaces and I didn t like the leg locks - the catches are recessed and look like they open in the wrong direction. Giotto's Pro Classic Tripods GB 1140 ... s Tripod is in a league of its own. If your after light weight, strong and reliable tripods then look no further. My only experience with the Giotto GB 1140 is when my Dad bought one to fix his new SLR too. He asked me to assemble it, and after a few minutes, I had set it up to a needed height and we were ready to go. This astonished me as it looks like a complex piece of equipment, but it is very easy to use. The maximum height that I got it to was just under 1.5 metres. Sony VCT R640 ... a professional photographer I have previously shared with you my opinions on many cameras so I thought I would now share with you my opinions of some of the many accessories involved in photography too, starting with the Sony VCT-R640 tripod. Although this tripod is nowhere near top of the range it does pretty much everything you would expect of it and at a great price. Sony products are always of high quality and this tripod is no different. It can be used for still imaging cameras or video cameras as long as they do not exceed 3Kg in weight which unless you are using top end professional cameras with huge lenses they will not.
