Hama Digi-Pod Tripod Compact 1
Advantages: Stable; Holds my camera tight and still
Disadvantages: Looks a bit weird
This is the weirdest looking camera tripod I've ever seen, well maybe not as weird as them bendy plastic ones you can get but to me this one looks like a piece of scaffolding that shouldn't be anywhere near my camera!
It's made by Hama and I bought it at the same time as a Mini Tripod, I only got this one because it was mega cheap and only cost £1.99..... I was kind of curious to see how it would work but I wasn't expecting much from it.
The tripod folds pretty much dead flat so you haven't got to worry about how bulky it looks, it's very easy to open and close and once it's open with the camera attached it's very stable because of the wide gap between the legs. The bottom of each leg is coated with black rubber and that also helps to keep the tripod stable, I used it on a night out last week and wanted to get a snap of me with 3 of my mates who are off to uni soon. I set the tripod up and had to stand it on a table that was swimming in god knows what kind of alcohol but the rubbery feet coped brill even though the table top was wet.
It's easy to screw the tripod into the bottom of my camera and when I brought it I remember it saying that this tripod can be used with anything that has got a tripod hole. I've only used it for my camera and it holds that nice and tight so I don't ever worry about it falling off or over or anything like that.
I've used this tripod loads and have got nothing but good things to say about it. It's a definate talking point when I'm out because it's so different to other tripods that people use, at first I was a bit embarressed about how it looks bit it actually does such a good job that the embarressment went out of the window and now I love it that people always comment.
The main thing is that it holds my camera stable and that means I use it for more than just getting in on the shot, sometimes if I want to take a photo of scenery or a special party photo I'll set the tripod up just to stop the worry of having my hand shake just as I'm about to take the photo. It's majorly stable and doesn't wobble or rock at all when the camera is attached, this is better than mini tripods that I've spent more money on in the past because them that have got telescopic legs never seem to hold the camera still or straight.
Recommended.... it might look weird but it's a brill tripod!
