A good tripod at a sensible price.

This is a beautiful tripod, perfect for any beginner!

      The specifications according to HarpersPhotographics:

      closed length: 61.0 cm
      minimum height: 8.0 cm
      maximum height: 178.0 cm
maximum height (with center column down): 135.0 cm

      load capacity: 7.00 kg
      color: silver
      material: aluminum
      leg cross section: round
      column cross section: three-faceted
      leg sections: 3
      leg angles: 25°, 43°, 73°, 90°
      center column: rapid
      column tube diameter: 28mm
      attachment: 3/8'' screw
      legs tube diameter: 30, 25, 20 mm

This is a lovely tripod, it's light enough to make carry around easy enough for most people, and yet sturdy enough to support most consumer cameras, including several DSLRs on offer. The height range is useful for many subjects, and even when at its complete maximum I found it took my 2kg or so of kit with no hassle - which was a camera, long lens and large flashgun - all that most people will be using!

The legs fold in and out with no difficulty, and the lengthening and shortening of the legs is smooth and simple.

I've used this on the Cornish Coast with quite heavy winds and found it shockingly stable - it really does hold up for the job.

I'd say this would be fine for anything upto and including moderate professional usage with the correct head - for most consumer buyers, this will be more than adequate.

Whilst not the most important aspect of any equipment buying, aesthetics do end up making a difference to most of us - and will be no deterrent to buying this tripod. It's not in any fancy colours, but in a nice classic silver and black, not too conspicuous when carrying around, and also looks professional enough to be taken seriously.

This may or may not come with a head when bought, I feel therefore they are worth a quick mention - some problems may be caused if this (or any other!) tripod is paired with an unsuitable head, the head you get needs to be suitable for the purpose, if using longer lenses especially do take not of the head you buy!

Overall though this is a fantastic tripod at a good price, and I'd recommend it to anybody.
