Advantages: Light, strong and portable
Disadvantages: Very occasionally you'll need more height.
I got this before a trip to Australia last Christmas as I didn't really relish the thought of taking my full size tripod all that way and then having to lug it around the various places we visited.
I have been very impressed with just how capable and versatile this is. Despite only having a maximum height of 64cm it is well suited to most shots while out and about. The only time I wanted more height was for the family group shots at Christmas dinner but this was solved quite simply by putting it on a table.
Since I got it I've made a couple of adjustments by adding a carabiner clip to the the central shaft which makes it a doddle to attach to my camera bag and being nice and light it's very portable.
With aluminium construction with plastic quick release clips for extending and then locking the rubber tipped legs it can hold a fair amount of weight confortably and even fully extended on the centre pole it feels sturdy with a full frame camera body and a largish zoom. The multi angle head is a real surprise in how strong it is, I thought initially it would be the weak link in an otherwise good set-up but it performs as it should and allows easy adjustment in all directions, so once the tripod is firmly planted you can swing the camera around without having to bother about the tripod shifting about.
Brilliant for the photographer on the go.
Summary: Excellent for travelling or if you're out for a walk with your camera
