Hotpoint CTD40T ... got this tumble dryer because we were expecting our first child and decided we wanted a dryer with a high capacity - this one fit the bill at 7kg. I was already a fan of condenser dryers after previously living in a basement flat without an opening window in the kitchen, but this dryer had an extra appeal because the part that collects the water is at the TOP rather than the BOTTOM of the machine. This means you can empty the water without having to bend! There is also a "set and forget" feature, which means you simply select either hot or warm drying (depending on the type of fabric you re drying) and leave it running - the tumble dryer will continue to dr... Hotpoint CTD00P ... ve had this tumble dryer for approximately 12 months now. The hotpoint CTD00P Aquarius is an extremely good and efficient dryer. It is a condenser dryer, that is you no longer require a hose (or elephant s trunk as the kids would say) hanging out of the window to vent the steam. This particular model cost me approximately £240 from Sainburys. Yes there are cheaper alternative tumble dryers on the market but the cheaper ones tend to require a venting hose routed out of the house, which means installing it near a window or knocking holes in the wall. Hotpoint VTD00P ... purchased this dryer and had a lot of problems with it when it was first installed due to the drum not being aligned and the belt being faulty. This meant that we lost a number of items including the other half s work shirts! Not impressed to say the least and although all of this occurred within a week of purchasing it, we had a great deal of grief to get the engineer to come back. We went back to John Lewis and they managed to get it sorted and after 3 visits the problem was diagnosed, fixed and we were refunded for the loss of the items. Now - back to the dryer.
