This is a pretty good basic tumble dryer. It's a condenser dryer, hence you can stand the appliance pretty much anywhere you like in the house, as there's no outlet pipe to consider. I would say it's fairly noisy when it's running, and it puts out a fair amount of heat into the room.
There are two basic functions on the ... machine: the dial for the amount of time you want the laundry to dry for, and the heat setting (cottons, synthetics or delicates). For those not used to condenser dryers, the minimum drying time is 30 minutes, and the dial goes up in ten-minute increments after that, to a maximum of 150 minutes. I find a normal-weight batch of clothes takes about 75-80 minutes, and bedding or towels maybe 90 minutes +. It beeps when it's finished drying and cooling, and will continue to beep for a few minutes until you switch the dryer off.
The condenser itself needs washing periodically, and the indicator light should come on to prompt you to do this. The filters also need cleaning after every use, as with any tumble dryer. Just as an aside, the water collected in the water reservoir is actually very good for watering houseplants!
Manufacturer guarantee is only for one year, which suggests this is a basic, lower-end product, but I have found it to be a useful appliance which more than suits my needs. I've had mine for over two years now. Read the complete review |

Our landlord recently bought this dryer for our apartment, purely because of its size.
We needed a condenser dryer as we did not have the facility to plum in the dryer, or release the steam anywhere.
This dryer is the smallest we could find on the market, and literally only just squeezed into the cupboard we needed ... it to fit in! The dimensions are 68.6 x 59.5 x 42.0 (H/W/D) cm.
I had never used a condenser dryer, and after months of trying to dry clothes in a washer/dryer that did not work AT ALL, I was dubious to say the least. However, I was pleasantly suprised!
As we live in an apartment, we do not have any outside space, we can easily dry our clothes on an airer but needed the dryer for washing batches of towels and our bedding.
The drum is not massive, but easily fits in a kingsize duvet cover, bed sheets and pillow cases, or 5-6 towels.
When I have washed things on a cotton wash, I tend to put a load in the dryer on the hot cotton setting for 80 - 90 minutes. So long as nothing is screwed up in a ball, this seems to be a sufficient time to thoroughly dry the load.
There is also a cold setting, but I don't find this really does much to dry anything, so I tend to only use the hot setting and am just careful what I put in there.
After each load of drying, you need to empty the water tank. It is quite astonishing how much water is taken out from each load!! But the tank comes out easily, is easily emptied and easily replaced. Also, as with all dryers, you need to clean the fluff filter. Again, this is very easy.
This dryer has made our life a lot easier, and I would definitely recommend it for people such as us who lack space and somewhere for a traditional dryer. Read the complete review |

I had to buy this tumble dryer last winter after my previous one broke down and was going to cost too much too make it worth the repair.
This is a very good dryer, it is a 7 kg dryer and the opening is very big compared to a lot of other makes I have seen.
The door is a flat fronted design which fits well into any ... kitchen or uitility room, it opens by pushing on a certain point on the edge of the door and closes in the same way.
The dryer can be used by setting the timer for anything between 25 and 135 minutes or you can use the preset options which allow you to dry to Cupboard dry or extra dry, the preset options have a sensor so the dryer stops when your laundry is dry.
Additionally you can select the fabric type either cotton or synthetics and there is an option for delicates.
When the dryer stops after being on one of the senor cycles it first goes in to cooling mode for a few minutes, then an alarm sounds over approx 45 seconds letting you know that you can remove the laundry.
If you do not remove the items at this point it goes in to a reduced crease mode turning the drum every 10-20 seconds for up to 30 minutes.
The dryer has reverse action which helps stop clothes getting tangles together and dries them quicker, I have mine vented at the outside wall but the hose is long so could easily go out a windo or door if a vent is not an option for you.
The lint filter is easily accessable at the front of the drum and is simple to clean.
It recommends that it is cleaned after each use.
The energy rating is C which although not fantastic is average or a new tumble dryer.
According to Which drying 5 washes a week over the year will cost you around £55.00 in electricity.
The dryer cost me £229.00 last winter but I have seen it in various shops ranging from £189 - £249 Read the complete review |
