We've had this dryer for about a year now and have been very happy with it.
I've got 3 young children, so do a lot of washing, hence we us our dryer a lot.
The Hoover VHC180 has a very simple design. There is one control dial on the front which allows you to set the time of the cycle. There is also an on/off button and a synthetics button for more delicate drying. The drum has a fairly large 8kg capacity and I have found dries clothes well even when fully loaded.
There is a panel at the bottom of the dryer which easily removes to allow access to the water container. When the container is full, the dryer switches itself off and an "empty water" light displays. The container itself just slides out and has a stop cap, so that you can dispose of the water easily and with very little mess. I'm not sure what water capacity the container has, but once full it can be pretty heavy, so I always get my husband to do it.
Just inside of the dryer door there is a fluff filter which is also easily removeable. The machine has an indicator light to tell you if the filter needs cleaning, but personally I clean ours after nearly every use.
I don't find it to be very noisy. Ours is in a laundry room and once the door is closed I can't hear it at all.
Although the condenser unit takes all the water out of the clothes, the machine does give off a lot of heat. I find this to be a good thing in the Winter as it helps warm the house up.
It's Energy Efficiency C rated. We bought ours as a display model, so paid around £250. For me it has been value for money
