My day began well with a load of washing finished in my Aquarius Hotpoint machine and into the tumble dryer. To my dismay, silence! My trusty dryer had dried its last load. Help was soon at hand in the form of my daughter who is able to solve most of my problems. In a matter of days a new Hotpoint Aquarius TVM570 tumble dryer was standing in my kitchen
The machine is an ideal match for my washing machine. It is not very heavy and so was easy to position. There are three heat settings for cottons, synthetics and acrylics and can be operated in either low or high heat. The loads can be as small as 1 kg or as large as 7 kg.
Clothes can be partially dried enough for ironing if required. However, when a load is completely dried the clothes can be taken out and either hung on hangers or folded straight away as there are never any creases. Although there is a timer for up to 2 hours the door can be opened at any time to check the items, should the need arise. The last 20 minutes of the cycle are a slow cooling down time and the dial can be turned to this at any time during the drying process.
As the machine was a present from my daughter I did not know the cost. However, on research, I find they retail at about £170.
I highly recommend this tumble dryer. It is one of my best presents.
We bought this tumble dryer as we were fed up of having loads and loads of washing hanging around the house, on airers and over the radiators, during the weeks of dam and wet weather we had this spring. Since having it delivered it has had weekly use.
This model is not as deep as some models which is useful if you are a little short of space, however it does have a large drum, I have to confess I do not know what 7kg of washing looks like, but it has not struggled with what I have sensibly put into it.
It has very simple operation, two heat settings and a timer which, is any thing up to 120 minutes, it doesn't have a sensor but you soon get used to how long things take to dry. It also vented rather than a condenser, but I think this makes it more simple and less likely for something to go wrong. I did however have to buy a longer hose for it to reach the door as the one supplied is quite short.
It basically does the job for what we bought it, it dries the clothes evenly and leaves them lovely and soft. I use it to dry complete loads of washing and also to "finish stuff of" which we have hung outside which usually takes about 20 minutes, so being able to set the time accurately is a good thing with this machine.
It doesn't have a consensor or sensor, but it is a good basic machine.
Overall very happy with the first few months of ownership.
