A great tumble dryer from Hotpoint

I have recently upgraded my tumble dryer from a white knight and after hearing a few reviews on this one I thought it sounded good, plus I have hotpoint products at the minute and like them anyway.

The product --> The tumble dryer is in white, and has no see through door, so it looks more like a dishwasher! I prefer this kind of design, before I had always had a window in to see what was drying and I felt bored with that design. The height of this is 85cm, I don't find it too bulky either. The whole model is in white, with the digits in black, and the logo on the front of the door. It is push to open, and opens to the left. It has the vented area in the bottom right corner. Overall, it looks very smart and is not an eye sore!

It has a 7kg capactiy, and all though this was more than I needed it is handy to have for rare large items. It has reverse drying action too, and I find that my clothes often don'tcome out with loads and loads of creases like other models. The door can also be turned to open to the right, but I have not tried this and always kept it to the left. The drying type of this is a condenser. The timer for the clothes is easy to operate and also change for whatever you are drying. A few large wet towels take about 80-100 minutes. It goes up to 180 minutes, so you can set it and go out and just leave it to dry away.

I don't find this model too noisy and I think it works faster than my other one. I quite like the fact there is a 5 year guarantee with the model, so I don't worry about having problems with it any time soon.

It came with very easy to understand instructions, especially with installation. I do use it frequently, especially for towels, and find that it does dry them as well as keeping them fresh. Another thing I like about it is that the door can just be pushed open mid cycle, so if you needed to stop it for some reason it can be done instantly.

As this is a condender tumble dryer it means that the water gets collected into a tray at the top, which you must manually remove and tip the water out. However, I find this absolutely fine, and I prefer to use this kind of model compared with the vented dryers.

The cost --> At ASDA this costs £250, but after searching for it around other places I have fond a variety of pricse from £215 to £290, so it helps to shop around.

I would recommend this product, it can be kept indoors, works quickly, can be stopped instantly, easy to install and not too noisy.

      Disadvantages

Very quiet machine and easy to use

We bought this tumble dryer when we realised that the washer/dryer in our flat would not dry any of our clothes effectively.

It has a very large drum which is great for big loads, and when in use is remarkably quiet even when the dryer balls are flying around inside it! We often leave it running when we go to bed, and considering we live in a flat and the kitchen is one door down from our bedroom this is remarkably quiet for a dryer.

The dry cycle can be set between 1 and 160 minutes, however we have never had to go beyond 120 to dry any loads. You can set the heat to high or low, but we always keep it on low, and clothes are always dry in a reasonably quick time, and it uses less energy. This also helps to avoid almost burning yourself pulling your clothes out of the dryer as soon as the cycle has finished!

The water tank is very easy to remove and empty into the sink, and it is easy to avoid any spillage. We usually get through 5 or 6 cycles before needing to empty it. You will know when it needs emptying because a light comes on and the machine stops, so rather than degrading the quality of the dry cycle (i.e. making it last far longer than necessary) you will always have a machine performing at optimum.

Finally, it looks nice, is simple to use, and has been very reliable in the time that we have owned it. All cleaning activities are very easy and the machine is intuitive. The instructions included were comprehensive, and the machine also comes with 5 years warantee on parts as long as you activate it with hotpoint.

Great tumble dryer for the price, no complaints here!

We bought this tumble dryer about 6 months ago, and it has been in constant use since, without any problems or worries. It cost just less than £200 and for that price it really cannot be beat, especially as it is a well known brand. The timer dial goes from 0 - 160 minutes, with a big button next to it that says 'start' so it is easy to use! It has the usual high/low heat button, with a useful table next to it that tells you what clothes require low and high heats, useful if your not sure! It has an empty water indicator light, although I have never seen it come on as I empty it well before. It is easy to pull out the water drawer and empty it. It has a filter for the fluff, which is small and feels strong, and is easy to clean off each time. It has a wide opening door like its washing machine counterpart, so that makes for easy loading/unloading. It stands at 85cm, width 60cm, so it should fit in easily in most homes. It is quite loud running, but that is true of most tumble dryers. It drys clothes very well, and often I set it for 80 mins for an average load of clothes and that is sufficient.

      A highly recommended tumble dryer

I paid £177.00 for this item in August 2008..

I was very careful when looking for a new tumble dryer, I needed to buy one which was going to be reliable as well as a top performer, I use my dryer on a daily basis throughout the Winter months, and have found with other tumble dryers they often leave garments very creased.

The Hotpoint Aquarious TCM570P was just what I was looking for, the drying cycle can be set for up to 160 minutes and is the usual 'high heat', 'low heat' setting.

It is a condenser dryer with a drawer to the left of the dial which is taken out and emptied once either full or nearly full with water which has been taken from the wet laundry inside the machine.

It is silver in colour and matches perfectly the Hotpoint Aquarious WML540G washing machine, I own both the washing machine and the dryer now and am very impressed by both.

The dryer is very reliable, isnt noisy and dries laundry very quickly and with ease, it also has reverse action too.

      Overall definately highly recommended!

I personally would rate this item 10/10
