We had a washer dryer before this and wanted seperates so you could wash and dry together. ++Good points==== Simple controls Large drum - seems to take massive amounts - I have even dried a single duvet in it Condenser! This is probably the best point, you can put it anywhere as there is no need for a vent pipe, BUT if you want to use a vent, there is a simple way of doing so as it only vents the water and not air - tiny pipe out back that you direct to a drain. Easy to convert this back and forward from condenser to non-condenser if you move the appliance. The condenser water tank is quite big too and has a light telling you when to empty it - it is a simple cartridge that slots out. Noise levels are pretty low - it's a "gentle hum" so not to disturbing - the dog even sleeps by it when it is on (probably the heat!) Fluff filter is very effective - catches dog hair and toe jam well. --Not so good==== Very little really, it has a good energy rating for a dryer and has not gone wrong in the 9 months or so that we have had it - it has had quite a lot of use due to our rubbish weather! One little thing, the "heat" setting button has weird symbols - I can never remember what is hot or cooler. 8/10 from me!
Having had this tumble dryer for a approximately a year I am very disappinted with it. Athough is has a nice big drum which entices you to put larger loads in it, it takes absolutely ages to dry anything unless it is one or two times at one time and so I generally use it when desperate as with any dryer is not very economical to run. However, not trying to be all negative the water capture device is quite large so you are not continuously having to empty it and the filters are easy to clean and wash through frequently. It is more convenient that a vented dryer as no need to hand the hose out the window or put a vent into the wall to release vapour. The machine itself is quite pleasing to the eye and is as simple to set it up as to plug it in.
i have had this tumble dryer for about 4 months after my last one gave up, i wanted a condensor dryer to put in my utility room which has no windows or other venting oppurtunity, i brought it from comets costing 170.00 it has a very large load capacity and the door is very large for getting in quilt covers and other large bedding and towels, the water holder is quite large but can be quite heavy when it is filled up, cleaning is sometimes a nightmare and if there is a tissue or other such things in pockets it goes everywhere and gets caught in the grill at the bottom which is a real pain when trying to wash it out as it all clogs up, it does not make any dampness in the air which with no windows was a worry on the whole though value for money
This is my second tumble dryer from Indesit. The first one leaked almost from the start, two engineers later I was told that the casing was cracked!! It must have been delivered that way. The current one has run for 18 months with no problems. It has two heat settings, I tend to use the highest but for no longer than 40 minutes (electricity is soo expensive!) Anyway the clothes etc come out ever so slightly damp so I put them on the radiators or airer to finish. The fluff filter is very easy to clean and is excellent at catching fluff and other things which may have been washed by accident. The condenser needs cleaning every month or so and is easy to remove from the bottom of the machine. I just put the shower head on it to clean out the build-up inside. The water collector is at the top and is also easy to empty, no leaks. Ok for those who left comments - it is available from all electrical stockists and is priced between £219 and £260. See Right of the review. The dryer isn't excessively noisy but is kept in a utility room so isn't a problem to us. If it was kept in the kitchen I don't think it would be too annoying but probably depends on how long it was on for. Overall I am happy with this appliance despite initial problems and would recommend it.
I will never buy anything from Indesit again.I was warned by friends that they always had trouble with Indesit company and I thought it was just their run of bad luck. Untill I brought the IS70C Tumble.I had it a month when it first went wrong. Was blowing out cold air and not drying the clothes. So someone came on the 2 year warentee to fix it. 2 weeks later it did it again. This time we got a new one. 2 months after that it blowed out cold air again. And again for the 3rd time, another was delivered. 3 months had passed, and we thought that we had finally passed the problems...but then it happens again.Intead of getting it fixed,we sent it straight down the dump and brought a different model. We have had not one problem since. I know some of you may think it was a waste to take it to the dump, but after countless problems,we had enough and figured we would just get one that would last longer then a few months at a time.
I have been impressed by this tumble dryer. It has a good large drum which not only means you can put full loads in but it also drys quicker. I find it not too noisy when running but am really impressed that you can not feel any dampness in the air when it is on. It has a handy water tank which is easy to empty and simply has 2 heat settings which is all you need. The fluff filter is really effective as i have 2 dogs and it removes all traces of their hair from clothes and bedding. It does produce quite a lot of heat when running so putting it in a cool room is advised. I like the design of not having a window in the door and people mistake it for my dishwasher. I have had it for 3 years so is reliable and not had to buy any parts as yet.
