When I moved into my house xmas of '99, my parents bought me a while knight tumble drier as a combined moving in present and christmas present.
It was great.
Until it blew up about 7 years later
So I needed to find a new one that didn't cost the earth, and would fit into the space I had (which was a little narrow for most)
After a fair amount of web browsing - checking the widths before the price and energy ratings - I had a very short list. Of about two! Both White Knights (I think they are a branch of Hotpoint, or whoever owns them today)
So, did I go for a full sized drier, and grunt and sweat pushing it into it's space? Or did I opt for the smaller 'space saver' and gain a small cupboard?
Yep, I went for the extra cupboard!
The smaller drier, the 38AW it had to be, considering it had my initials in it's model number! It has a function that is designed to reduce creasing, by turning the drum first one way, then the other. That takes a little getting used to, as you think 'Oh No! It's stopped working' until it starts up again.
Now because it is a smaller model, you can't get a full load of washing in it in one go. It just wont fit. But being as theres only my clothes to wash, this isn't a problem for me, except in winter when I'm washing a couple of jeans in there too. I've found it's best to dry them separately from the rest, to give them more room and more hot air to themselves.
But that's it. That's the only hiccup I've had.
This is a great little drier that would be ideal for those with less space, or those with less clothes!
[sorry, but I can't remember exactly how much I paid, something like £120 I think from Currys]
This is a fantastic little dryer. I bought it because it was smaller than most dryers and would fit perfectly into my porch, as I had not much room in my kitchen. I didn't expect to be able to fit as much drying into it as I did. I would say it will fit three quarters of what would normally go into a usual sized dryer. It is very quick and efficient and has two heat settings. I would highly recommend this little dryer and for the price, is absolutely amazing. As long as you don't over fill it, your clothes come out virtually crease free, which saves on the ironing. It is a nice looking dryer and for anyone not wanting to spend much money or who hasn't much space in their house/flat, it is ideal.
I can honestly say it is one of the best household purchases I have made.
