Advantages: Quiet and quick
Disadvantages: 'C' rated for energy efficiency
My last tumble dryer completely packed in on me in June this year and I have tried to be good and use the washing line and airers but after the episode last week when at 9.30pm I realised my eleven year old son had PE the following day and had "forgot" (in other words I had not walked behind him nagging enough) to put it in the washing basket and it was now thick with mud, I realised it was going to be a nightmare to get it clean and dry for the following day, washing it was not a problem I've got a handy machine that does that but it certainly was not going to dry on the washing line at 11pm in the middle of November meaning the central heating was on nearly all night in my house that already felt like a greenhouse.
The very next morning I went straight onto the internet to buy a tumble dryer, the problem I had was my kitchen has all integrated appliances and my tumble dryer was made by the now defunct MFI, so whatever I bought had to fit in with the door and venting system that was already there.
Luckily I happened upon the White Knight 43AW on Ebay, it looked virtually identical to my old one. It arrived on Saturday morning was expertly fitted by me (I could not stand to wait for my husband to arrive home from work and then start ranting and raving while trying to fit it, patience is not one of his virtues) and wow I am so impressed with it it is quiet you can hardley hear it is on, was so easy to fit, has a standard 6kg load capacity and best of all a load of towels only took 45 mins to dry from wet. It is rated C for energy efficiency not the best but acceptable, to me anyway.
The dryer has two settings one for heavy materials such as cottons and the other for light materials such as acrylics. It has a reversible door and your kitchen door can be hung either way too, it looks smart with the only bit visible to the eye when fitted correctly is the small vent at the bottom of the machine, which if you are fitting for the first time you have to cut a gap in your kickboards for.
The dryer also has a special cool down function for the final thirty minutes of the cycle which helps prevent creasing saving valuable time usually spent ironing, it also has an auto cut off function which means when the clothes are dry it turns off to prevent overheating the clothes inside the machine.
Overall all an excellent buy and a perfect replacement for anybody who has a broken MFI dryer.
Summary: Great value integrated dryer.
