      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      much better than electric

I have had this tumble dryer for some time now and it is on almost every day. We dry everything in it as we don't have a washing line. It is powered by Gas and dries twice as fast as an electric dryer so saves a tremendous amount of energy, especially when you are drying towels and sheets. It has a large capacity 5kg - great for me with my twins who seem to have to have new uniform every day. Most clothes come out and if they are hung up straight away need little or no ironing so another plus! I think this must be because it heats that much hotter than an electric dryer. I have had several electric dryers and after having this gas one would never go back to electric. I know you have to have a specialist corgi engineer to fit, but we got our covered under our british gas house policy so any expensive repairs will be covered. Its much better than electric in my opinion. Price £319

        Disadvantages

        Proceed with caution

I first went for a gas dryer as the runing costs work out that much cheaper than using an electric dryer. At £350 to but new it was much more expensive than opting for an electric one- though hoped to recover that back in running costs. Also you need to allow for the cost of having installed and for safety reasons in use with gas you need to have a window open.Simple to use- just two settings- fine for us but if you have lots of delicates this may not be the dryer for you- an electric one may be the better choice in this instance.

Has a large enough capacity at 5kg for a family like us. Worked for six months or so then no heat. Had soemone in to have a look at it- he spent an hour tring to fix it but needed parts for it. Suggested that I buy a new one as it would be cheaper ! never did recuperate the running or installation costs!
