Marantz ST-4000 ... usual I spent a lot of time on the internet looking for a decent tuner to complete my low priced mid-end hifi system. I quicly found that a simple radio tuner does not come for cheap so I turned once again to the second hand market but ended up finding a brand new one on ebay for about £50. That was a steal, for the seller anyway! Setting up could bot be easier; left and right audio jacks, power cord and antenna and we re done! The device has the same classy looks of the other devices from this series and the front pannel is not cramped with many buttons and is easy to read. Pure Digital The Bug ... have the grey version of this DAB radio, and since day 1 I have been nothing but pleased with the radio. For starters you need to comment on the looks. You either love it or hate it. My intention for this radio was as a radio on bed side table, not for anywhere else, therefore it dind;t need to be flat or stackable. I loved the look, thought it would be a great feature in the bedroom. As soon as you turn it on it locates a radio station list, so you can scroll through a digital display to find out what you want to listen too. I was slightly disappointed by one thing here, with the fact I listen to Beacon radio, and working in shropshire at the time I wanted the shrops... Pioneer F-304RDS ... the pioneer F-304RDS tuner is analogue, its superior built quality and clear sound more than makes up for it, it has plenty of great features including RDS and tuning meter with a nice clear well equiped display, definately better than most analogue tuners availble second hand today and as well built as any modern dab tuner, you cannot go wrong with this tuner IMHO, the analogue signal is not going anywhere yet so no worries about longevity of usage as those in the know will know that even dab tuners receive analogue signal.
