The Bose Wave radio 2 series is a very stylish state of the art sound system which really does impress.
I decided to treat myself as a retirement present and have loved every minute of it and use it all the time .There is excellent clarity and depth for such small speakers which fill the room with quality sound :There is simply no distortion even at the top end of the volume range.
I was very pleased that the system was simple to connect and is powerful and portable.
The radio is very stylish and makes an attractive addition to the lounge;
the unit is beautifully made and has a classy look
Although I dearly love the radio , I would hesitate to recommend it to other than the die hard music lover
as it is very expensive and over priced.
The radio is truly a "state of the art product" and despite the high cost , from my personal point of view it is worth every penny.
I bought this as a tree for my music mad husband. It was pricey so was not sure I had made a good purchase. How wrong could i be. The sound that comes from this system is incredible and makes the price paid forth item well worth while.
It's a case of plug and go with the Bose and ease of use is the key to using this also. The clock is visible and working of the various sound features from radio to cd player make this the perfect choice if you want to listen to good quality music and sound. You really do get what you pay for with this.
No large speakers not taking up of vital space but and excellent sounds quality making it perfect for any place in your home.
Would I recommend this. If you can stretch to the price it is worth the pennies and a good purchase for and music fan.
I had been looking for a good quality/compact radio for our kitchen/conservatory for ages, and i kept being drawn back to the Bose brand. I decided to try the Bose Wave Radio II.
Its very small & compact, and it sits easily on a kitchen worktop. Being only 37cm wide and 22cm deep it takes less space than a breadmaker, but gets a lot more use!
This product is ideal for anyone who wants the minimalist feel to their house, even the remote isnt much bigger than a credit card.
The cost is on the pricey side, i got this unit from a Bose outlet, for £769. You do have the option of spreading the payments over four months interest free, which at £192 per month for four months, makes you feel a lot less guilty!
When it was delivered and i opened the box, i didnt really know what to expect, i had obviously heard it being played in Bose retail outlets before, but had no idea how the sound would fill our large kitchen/conservatory.
All i can describe the sound as, would be amazing! It is crystal clear at any volume, with the Wave system, you have no control of bass, treble etc, the system just seems to know how to set itself for any type of music. I have played Classical, Hardcore dance music, even some rock music, and at any volume this thing doesn't distort. It even has a fair bit of punch on the bass.
Bose have been clever with this system, behind the speakers there are two 66cm tubes, which somehow help to channel the sound and create a fantastic audio performance.
I have spent big money on larger units in the past, but this things sound quality will compete with them with ease. Even at very low volumes the sound is so crisp.
Dont be put off this unit because it doesnt have lots of settings/buttons on the front to play around with, just leave the Wave system to do all the hard work, all you have to worry about is the volume.
The one thing i love about Bose, is that they create such simple products, even my nan can use it!
If i was to have one fault, it would be the FM doesnt seem to pick up 100% in our house, you can buy a DAB module for the unit, costing £149, this connects to the Wave unit to digital radio.
I am going to buy one of these modules and will review once i set it up.
If you are looking to buy a Bose unit, then all i can say is 100% go for it! you will not be disappointed, absolutely fantastic!
The Wave radio II delivers deeper tones and crisper, more accurate audio performance than the original. The key to the improved sound is the new dual tapered waveguide technology. Engineers re-sculpted the interior of the Wave radio II to accommodate two 26" folded waveguides. These dual waveguides amplify the low-frequency output, reproducing musical notes a full one-half octave lower than the original Wave radio. The result is that instruments like kettle drums and bass guitars have a more natural presence and you may hear details in your music that you've never noticed before!
