Advantages: Affordable, Easy to use, Multiple functions, Extremely helpful for beginners, Portable
Disadvantages: Easy to misplace, somewhat fragile, microphone is slightly unresponsive, sound consists of beeps
I like to consider myself an average guitarist and over the years I've gotten from a guy who didn't even know what E-A-D-G-B-E meant to tuning purely by ear and I've got this to thank for that.
The boss tuner is a compact tuner and metronome no bigger than a wallet, needs two double A Batteries and is very easy to use simply plug your guitar into it, turn it on and start tuning, its one of the easiest tuners to use and the metronome is extremely helpful for some quiet practice sessions, it also has an output so with an extra lead you can continue playing even with it plugged in.
The interface is very simple, although the microphone may need to take some persuasion if you intend on tuning an acoustic, you can tune both guitar and bass, and the metronome has many different beats the buttons are clearly marked and after around thirty minutes of playing with it you'll get the hang of pretty much everything you can do with it.
Everyone needs to start somewhere and I believe that this is the most reliable and affordable tuner that you could get to start off your Guitar and Bass journey, even Mrs understands how to use it and she cant even tell you what a D string is.
Pricing of this item would be between £10 and £20
Summary: Very easy to use and quite affordable. a very good tuner
