Now we`re talking! This is sound the way sound ought to be, a system so good that I would marry it if I could... I would definetely go for the brand Cambridge Audio again, this digital radio system of such good all round quality that I have no reason not to!
In a world of mp-3 and Apple, I find products such as these, all though comming across looking very modern and stylish, refreshingly nostalgic, it`s something about listening to the radio that just brings me back, and after all, listening to a really good radio channel offers way better entertainment than watching some half drunk kid eating worms on a reality tv show... On this Cambridge Audio System, I have found the sound to be crystal clear, there`s no high pitch or disturbance, and after having scanned and tuned for channels, the selection of channels are of the hundreds, all of which are presented with very good and well balanced sound! When wanting to access a radio channel, this is very easily done by using the largest button on the product, the scroll is efficient and easy to manuever, and every knob and switch is of solid makings, so there`s no doubt to the fact that this is a high quality product that will last you for several years!
At first look, I was impressed with the stylish, elegant and modern design of this product, it looks really nice and silvery, and will fit nicely in with most interiors and home styles, as its modern and cool enough to be awarded the occasional envy stare, yet not flashy and over the top in its design! When I purchased this System some years ago, I paid 193.99 for it, but I`ve noticed that the cost of it seems to have shrunk quite a bit, so the bargain is all the better! A really great digital radio system from Cambridge Audio!
Ive had this DAB digital radio tuner for many years now. It was my first taste of the digital radio quality and I very much am welcoming of the revolution. The tuner is in a very sleek and stylish silver which contrasts against most of my 'seperates' which generally come in standard plain old black. The knobs are chunky and have a feeling they are built to last. The feel is great, very useful and simple to scroll through the many different digital radio channels. There are an endless number of station presets, although with digital radio i find this less important than with FM radio. Once the stations are scanned for and tuned in, the radio will store hundreds of channels in its list and you can access them just using the large single button.
I find the sound very clear. There are very few settings as such on the radio, it is a very very bare model, although with the purpose of these machines the more functions the lesser the clarity. I am still extremely pleased with the ease of use of this product and for the price it is still very up to date and worthwhile. Many digital radios run into many hundreds of pounds, but, as with amplifiers, Cambridge Audio have done it again. For the money you will struggle to find a better system.
