The Denon Knows How To Sparkle (Denon TU-260L MKII)
Name: amazingtrade
Advantages: Great sound quality, Features, Ease of use Disadvantages: Slightly off build quality, Sony makes cheaper and better models
The Denon 260L MII replaced the legendary MKI back in 1999. It comes with all the usual RDS functions as well as a remote control sensor. Its very easy to use, has a very easy to read display and even looks good! The sound quality is the Denon’s best asset though as it quite simply one of the best sound budget tuners out there (although the Sony ST SE300 that I have now is just as good). I bought mine at the end of 1999 but I somehow managed to swap my Denon for a brand new Sony (I won’t go into details) in November 2000. It always sounds every alive and active but never sounding harsh and bright like some from the likes of Pioneer. Radio One and other compressed pop stations sound OK but I think it absolutely loves Radio Two because of its great stereo imaging and as you might already know Radio Two has good sound quality anyway plus the fact that it plays some very well recorded tracks.
