Advantages: Updateable, DAB, SD Card, Looks amazing

Disadvantages: Not all radio stations are DAB yet

I have the grey version of this DAB radio, and since day 1 I have been nothing but pleased with the radio.

For starters you need to comment on the looks. You either love it or hate it. My intention for this radio was as a radio on bed side table, not for anywhere else, therefore it dind;t need to be flat or stackable. I loved the look, thought it would be a great feature in the bedroom.

As soon as you turn it on it locates a radio station list, so you can scroll through a digital display to find out what you want to listen too. I was slightly disappointed by one thing here, with the fact I listen to Beacon radio, and working in shropshire at the time I wanted the shropshire side, and on the box it said 103.1 and 97.2Fm Beacon logo, so it implied both are available on DAB. Only West Midlands version is available. This no longer bothers me as I work in Staffordshire, but still live in Shropshire. After making complaints I found out this was not a problem of PURE, but more of Beacon radio giving out their 2 radio station logo for DAB instead of the 1. I have seen on DAB radios now they only display the 97.2 logo.

The sound quality out of this radio is brilliant for a small scale radio of this size with in built in speakers, afterall you can't expect cinema quality sound out of small inbuilt speakers.

The radio is also able to be updated through USB. This allows for bugs to be updated and fixed, and new features to be added. I now have the EPG on it, which I have looked at a couple of times, but never felt the need to use.

The radio is pretty good as you can program it to go off at multiple times and on different days. This allows this bedside radio to be set up for your needs for those days.

You can set the radio to come on, or for it to buzz for the alarm, You can also set a time for the radio to turn itself off. My main features are to have radio on all night as I sleep, thus it is on whenever I wake up, but also to have the buzz alarm go off in the morning to wake me up on a weekday, and no alarm on a weekend as thats my time.

The radio has a built in memory for a 5minute recording of sound so you can rewind and relisten to things. There is a built in SD Card reader to allow you to expand the recording time and permanently record shows as MP2 files.
You can also play stored MP3 files from the card through the player, however be careful with the SD Card size. I have had problems with larger cards but the 512MB ones have been fine.

Overall this radio is fantastic, I have loved it even with those 2 minor bugs I mentioned. I have had no problems with the radio itself throughout its numerous years of usage. Its definately worth having, especially as it looks so unique, it certainly is recommended to update the station list everyso often to keep upto date.

UPDATE: In light of recent feedback/Comment. I have been asked about including price information. I got this for a Christmas present a number of years ago, So I don't really know how much it cost, however if my mind servers me right I think they used to be on retail back then for around £120, but be aware this is a number of years ago.

Summary: This is a stylish bedside/kitchen DAB radio, well worth getting

A good example of where adding the price actually DOESN'T help consumers. If you don't know it, don't feel obliged to add it! I would imagine that most consumers would go and do a search on a price comparison web site regardless of what you said anyway.

Welcome to Dooyoo. A well covered review here. How much was it though? You could add this to your review.
