I dont normally do this, but the main reason I bought this turntable was because it looked good. Of course there was an element of its quality and functionality, but the design was the main driving force behind the purchase. When I was shopping around for a new set of turntables I was shocked at how much they had risen in price, and so I ... Read the complete review

The citronic PD1 is a well produced budget range turntable which immitates the look of the Technics 1200 series. You would pay only a fraction of the price in comparison to Technics at only £290 a pair you won't find much of a better deal for a set of direct drive turntables! The PD1s are quite heavy at 9.6KG per deck but ... Read the complete review

The 1st decent turntable I owned.I had a pair of these about 7/8 years ago and they were my 1st pair of 'proper' turntables. They use a direct drive motor to power them which is a must if you are really trying to do any kind of djing. What i liked most about this turntable was its sturdiness,it has a very solid feel to it.Unlike most ... Bear in mind I was totally new to mixing, with no tuition or anyone to learn off. It took me a few months to be able to beatmatch with ... Read the complete review

Now, i'm just a beginner myself, and can easily beat match on any machine and i also used to work in "turnkey", in the DJ department. There are many beginner decks around, but none i feel of the same quality as the PD1's. Most entry level decks feel as though they are made of tin, but these feel solid. They're weighty ... Thought they were ok as my first decks but as I got better at mixing I realized how bad these were. No torque meant platter stops when cueing record Woundnt track properly, needle just doesnt stay vertical when cueing Wont hold pich exactly needing constant adjustment Not enough head weight requiring coin/blutack on ... These decks are awful, and I really mean it. I bought a pair 2 years ago, and have never, ever managed to get them to work properly. They are jumpy, despite the fact I have money blue-tacked to the arm, I have one deck with a wobbly platter, the other decides to only give output through one speaker from time to time. Start up ...
