Citronic PD-1 ... or using the record spindle in the middle of the platter (the silver metal stub!!) to just control the mix. C mon, Dj ing is a "skill" after all! So that s a downside i suppose, but the only decks that will offer you solid pitch control and sustain are the professional range. And unless you re a pro, why spend £800 upwards "trying" your hand at dj ing??? Other than that, the Citronic PD1 s are seriously a good pair of decks. No problems with sound output terminals (????), or cheap buttons, wobbly platters. If you find that these problems occur THEN TAKE THEM BACK!! Citronic PD-1 ... they were ok as my first decks but as I got better at mixing I realized how bad these were. No torque meant platter stops when cueing record Woundnt track properly, needle just doesnt stay vertical when cueing Wont hold pich exactly needing constant adjustment Not enough head weight requiring coin/blutack on the cartridge to get anywhere I couldnt recomment these decks. Spend the same and get a second hand set of better decks or just pay a bit more in the knowledge that they will last you alot longer. I still have the MSX-1 mixer however and think thats great. ... Also, if you can mix on these, not only do you deserve a medal, but you should find mixing on a proper pair of decks an absolute doddle. I'm not joking when I say I can beat match on Technics 1210s in about 15 seconds, whereas it can take me a minute and half easy on my Citronics. If you are thinking of buying these, the only way you could go worse is by getting very very cheap belt drives. I would strongly advise saving your money for a little longer and buying something better. Unfortunetly, this is a case of you get what you pay for... ...
