dannyorange Numark TT200: ... my first turntables, I am reasonably happy about them. Numark was perhaps one of the first ones to introduce fashion to turntables and even now (many years after these models first saw the daylight) it looks stylish and sexy. More importantly, despite low price and cheaper materials, it does look and feel quite sturdy - the only thing which you are actually afraid to give a harder treatment is the pitch. All cont...

Dobbi2009 Technics SL 1210 II
... owning a terrible set of belt driven decks for a few years I decided it was time to invest in a set of Technics. At the time I was a student and had saved my hard earned cash to buy them. I had played on my cousins so I knew how good they were before I bought them. The 1210 s are basic but have everything a DJ needs with no fancy bells and whistles. Compared to my old belt drives these are a dream to mix on. Technics hold their pitch much better and you won t be constantly adjusting the speed during mixing. The motor is very strong and the platter will not stop underneath when you are cueing up a record. Also great for scratching on and will not jump provided...

... s The AK47 of the record player world this is built primarily to last, its sturdy frame and hard wearing exterior is both functional and simple I would consider this a design classic that is still being imitated! But don t mistake it s rough exterior with a brash or heavy handed sound, it produces (with a good stylist preferable a Concord needle) a warm and loud sound and it s uncomplicated design means that this sits both comfortably in any club or bar or upstairs in an inspiring young DJ S bedroom! The price of these is still at a relative premium but as with the AK47 it will last as long as you need it too.....I ve never set fire to one (couldn t bring my...
