... it works well. It has a built in speaker and is already earthed so you don't need a hi-fi (although it does also have an output so you can plug it in if you wish). This is obviously ideal for travel. The sound quality out of it's speaker is not great but depending on your requirements is ample. Word of warning: watch out that you have it turned to zero if you are plugging into a hi-fi otherwise you will get double playback. I had been looking for something like this for a long time. I am a keen record collector and have travelled to the United States on many occasions to hunt for hidden treasures. On each trip, this little device has accompanied me. This device is self-sufficient. I must confess to not having used it battery operated so can't comment on that but from the mains it works well. It has a built in speaker and is already earthed so you don't need a hi-fi (although it does also have an output so you can plug it in if you wish). This is obviously ideal for travel.
