Advantages: Lots of feature, reliable and cheap.

Disadvantages: No major disadvantages

The Numark Por tt-1 A high performance deck that hs been specially design for the industry proffesinal in mind. This rugged deck is set apart from the rest by apperance, performance and features.

It user a very high torque direct drive motor to meet the demands of a scratch turntableist. The surface of the unit is anodized champaigne gold with complementary smoked brown removerable lid.

Its key features are, 33, 45, & 78 rpm speeds. Forwards and backwards motion. 10% pitch adjustment, fully adjustable tone arm, and a surface mounted backlit LCD display indicating modes with a rotating 12 segment circular display, indicating the spinning actions of the platter at all times.

In use, put your 12" on the deck and move accross the tone arm. So far ok. Flick the switch behind the platter to change mode to 45 rpm. Now mix, the pitch fader is smoothe but like the 1210s has that annoying ball bearing at 0% Now as the platter spins the digital display is telling me how fast and that it s going fowards, (which is always useful!). The sound quality is good and overall hs a great feel about the mix. In the past manufacturers have tried to make things with extra gadgets cheaply and failed miserably. But Numark have got this one spot on. Hats off to them!

Its an all round attractive deck, it looks good, has lots of fetures and the price is around £600 a pair! Not bad. I definately would recomend this product to someone wanting to upgrade their first pair of decks to these.

Nice opinion, I think I'll stick with my 1200's for the time being, but I'd like to play with some of these though! Check out the DJ2000 by Roland, superb mixer mate!

£600 for a record player. I should hope it is good!
