The SL1210/1200 is the mainstay of deck market. Its reliability is nothing short of legendary, it has good looks and a simple design and is built very ruggedly indeed.
I have owned a pair of SL1200's for several years, and have never had a single problem with them. Infact, I have heard of very few people indeed to have any trouble whatsoever with them.
If you're looking to buy your first pair of decks and you think DJing is something you're going to be doing for some time to come, whether it's just in your bedroom or out at clubs, a pair of 1200/1210's will serve you well for a very long time indeed. If you want style, go for the "old skool" style silver 1200's they're a lot less common and a lot better looking - and don't believe the crap that people feed you about 1210's being better than 1200's - it's not true, they're both 99.99% the same. Full stop.
They only have one downside, expense. About £300 a piece. Look for second hand ones if you don't want a large initial outlay, they're built to last and they hold value. At the end of the day, you'll never regret buying these because they never let you down.
