Its incomparable dampening is due to the extremely heavy sandwich construction of the chassis. Two thick wooden plates are flexibly bonded to a 1/2" steel plate. They give the 46.5 lb unit unparalleled stability and make it completely free of resonance. In addition to the high quality components of the 800 range turntables, the TD850 includes a 1" thick, 9 lb alloy platter, silent-run bearing, AC synchronous motor with external regulated drive controller, polymerdamped spike feet and a TP 300 tone arm.
