Adaptec VideOh! DVD Media Center USB 2.0 Edition

Advantages: Good for Laptops, Remote Control
Disadvantages: XP/2000 Needed, Slows down computer, No freeview
This product is a freeview tuner, PVR and a video capture device. Not a 'DVD Media Center'. It comes with a bundle of software (WinDVR and Sonic Record Now), remote control, power cable and a usb cable. This TV tuner does not come with any s-video or composite leads.
Good Points:
This product is very handy for laptop users as it's easy to set up and install and it also supports USB 2.0. This also has composite and s-video input, which is handy. So you can plug in your camcorder and make home-dvd's or transfer VHS to DVD.
Bad Points:
This product is 'rubbish' compared to other products on the market now, it doesn't have a freeview tuner and it's only compatible with XP and 2000. Also, if you want to record in MPEG-2 format, a 20min recording takes up about 1gb of hard disk space. So make sure you have a large hard disk before you buy this. Finally this product is not compatible with Windows XP MCE 2005.
Overall, this product is a good buy if you just want to transfer home videos or old VHS tapes to DVD. However I would go for a freeview tuner instead of this.
Summary: Good buy if you want to transfer VHS to DVD.
