High Defition (HD) television is the latest craze sweeping across the United Kingdom and the world behind gimmicky 3D formats and new to this year internet connected TVs. HD is something we can all enjoy, something which truly does enhance your viewing and listening experience for the better. Now, HD TV is available for your computer with this state of the art 'dongle style', Hauppauge nanoStick T2 PCTV 290e. As stated, it's a 'nano' stick which turns your PC temporarily into a TV in a small, portable, friendly way!
The system uses new DVB-T2 HDTV receiver technology, and this particular product is the first of its kind to use the kit. The major set back of this however is that becuase this is a single tuner device, you can't watch one channel and record another like some alternatives. In essence this is the devices only negative attribute, and because of it the USB fed stick is extremely eay to set up and use. As soon as you plug the thing in you can begin, searching through the standard line up of freeview TV channels, with the addition of HD ones.
The HD is full and comes through excellently, giving a clear and concise image and sound for exceptional viewing plessure. The device uses DistanTV software to stream the channels, and this element of the product works well with the stick to give a user friendly experience as well as one which is a plessure to enjoy.
It has a Hi-speed USB Interface Type which means the transfer of data from the stick to the PC is done in great time to give the quickest channel changes and live streaming. It also allows you to record a channel when your not watching anything in perfect time.
Overall, this product will undoubtedly become the new norm in TV watching - or at least other similar products will. The nanoStick lacks in the area of mult-channel recording as it only has one tuner, but the interface and quality of watching makes up for that in heaps. This is a 4 star product as a result and comes highly recommended from me.
