Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1100

Having installed this the WinTV HVR-1100 along side my PVR-150 card, I proceeded to download the software from the www.hauppauge.co.uk and once that was acheived I had effectively a twin tuner TV/PVR. The whole process of hardware install, then software download and install was relatively painless if not a bit tedious. Hauppauge software has got a bit of a reputation for being a bit on the ropey side and I did have my problems; still do have one annoying glitch when I change programs I get a blank screen, touch the volume control and, lo, the picture appears. Review written in 2007 - using software version 3.3c The specification of Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1100 is impressive. But does it live up to its claims? The card has both an analogue and digital tuner (Freeview). The spec says you can record programmes and also has a FM Radio (not DAB radio). Also, beware if you want to enjoy Digital TV, you must have a good reception with a quality roof aerial (better outdoor rather then indoor). Even if you can get Freeview in your living room, does not mean that your TV reception willnot be effected by the interference generated by your PC.
