... have owned one of these for several years with very mixed results. Initially I found the whole system to be very poor as the supplied software was very poor. The software install put about 6 services on my machine which would load at start up just for using the nova-t. Hauppauge WinTV USB2 ... was looking around at various "TV on your PC" products for quite a while and this one caught my eye, most simply because it was one of the first USB ones I was to come across. After reading up a little more about this product I decided to buy it. I got it home, unpacked it, looked at the instructions "install and use in less than 15 minutes" GREAT! I thought to myself, but oh how I was wrong. Although this may appear as easy to get up and running its totally the opposite. Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1100 ... written in 2007 - using software version 3.3c The specification of Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1100 is impressive. But does it live up to its claims? The card has both an analogue and digital tuner (Freeview). The spec says you can record programmes and also has a FM Radio (not DAB radio). Also, beware if you want to enjoy Digital TV, you must have a good reception with a quality roof aerial (better outdoor rather then indoor). Even if you can get Freeview in your living room, does not mean that your TV reception willnot be effected by the interference generated by your PC. Hauppauge WinTV Nova ... you ve never heard of Hauppauge you probably don t know much about TV cards for your computer, yes they are big and yes they are one of the best, but they don t seem to do much else which will be the reason you ve never heard them before . . . The TV card range are split into a few different sections first there split into external boxes connected via a USB cable and the otheres are PCI cards which go stright into your computer and are cheaper and usually also quicker.
