Advantages: couldn't discover!

Disadvantages: loading

I bought this TV card some time ago, but due to tremendous problems with Evesham Computers (that's another story that would fill a book) I was not able to use it until now.
Bearing in mind that I have some limited computer knowledge, I internally installed the card and set about to follow the instructions. The loading process is lengthy but I plodded on, however the on screen messages did not eventually tie in with the booklet and loading seemed to come to an end too soon. When I came to try to use the TV card it failed to load. So I uninstalled every thing, took out the card, rebooted and put the card back in. Same thing happened again. Iasked for help from the Leadtek site and an email came back as long as my arm - download this, down load that, take the card out, try in other slots, swap around with other cards. No thanks, life's too short. Out it comes and I will let someone else have ago!

I am sorry to hear all this. As stated in my review I have absolutely no problem with this card and it even survived the migration to WindowsXP Professional perfectly. I go regularly to the Leadtek site to see if there are updates and install them. In my experience it could be that the kind of conflicts you describe come from the TV-card not being very compatible with the motherboard chipset. At least that is what I had with my previous card (from Hauppage).

The Winfast TV 2000 XP Deluxe has absolutely no problems with my Aus P4-S533 Sis645DX chipset.

Spot on. Wish I'd read this before.

Instal lation fails miserably on both XP Home & 2000. No answer from Leadtek for support. First time & last time for me wrt Leadtek.

I downloaded the drivers from their website, which XP picked up OK, but without their software I get nowhere. The installation documentation supplied with the product is 3 pages long and has no FAQ, troubleshoot, etc.

I agree with the review - I have had the card installed for over a year, and am absolutely fed up with it. Sometimes when I open up the computer (running XP Home) the card works. Most times, there is nothing there - and despite many, many times trying to re-install it, something goes wrong. Having already uninstalled it, then tried to re-install it - up comes a message asking me if I want to uninstall it. I give up !. Maybe it's a conflict with something else. can anyone recommend a reliable card ?
