sympatic ABC 1: ... is not really a surprise that this channel has now ceased to broadcast on my Virgin package as all it seemed to do was show a constant stream of repeats. ... the name suggests it, ABC1 is not a kid’s channel. Yeah, it has kid shows on it, but they’re only on for about a couple of hours every week day. The rest is American comedy. American comedy is what it sounds like-comedy in American with Americans speaking American! It’s not a bad concept, but it fails due to some lousy execution. The channel’s adverts are poorly placed, and the shows just repeat so much! So, it’s good if you’re a fan of American comedies and don’t minding seeing the same shows lots, or if you want something to watch for half an hour, but anyone else will probably tire of the high level of repeats. -(Shows)- There are a number of shows on ABC1. ... 1 is an American channel which you can now get on sky and freeview (channel 15). Its great for fans of American comedy programmes, like Scrubs, 8 Simple Rules and Home Improvement. If you re watching it on freeview, however, transmission ends at 6.00pm so you miss alot of the good evening shows. But if you re paying to watch it on sky, it runs pretty much 24/7. The one problem with this channel is the fact that there are two advert breaks in every programme which can ger extremely annoying.
