Advantages: Negated by the poor service

Disadvantages: Non existent Customer Services, Misguiding Price Guides, 'Invicible Company'

Following on from my earlier review of Auction World TV where I had been waiting the arrival of a ring for 41 days I thought it only fair to update readers on the status quo.

On the same day that I wrote the review I faxed and wrote Nigel Rowley Solicitor and a Director of Auction World at his lawfirm offices. Within 24 hours I received a letter from Auction World apologising for the delay in delivery owing to 'problems with supply' and advising me that the ring would be 2 - 4 weeks late in arriving. However, 48 hours after my fax to Nigel Rowley I received a ring - correct style but wrong size. Quandary, should I return the ring with all the problems such an action was likely to entail or bite the bullet and take it to a jewellers for them to resize? I decided to take it to a jewellers for resizing - not an easy task as the first three refused to make the adjustment saying that to make the ring three sizes bigger could result in irreparable damage however not easily deterred I ploughed on until I found a jeweller who was prepared to send the ring to a workshop for the 'expert' to make the decision. If it proves to be too big a task I shall have to return the ring to Auction World and I know that the problems will just begin again so I'm keeping my fingers (and all else) crossed at the moment. Anyway, I digress, forty-eight hours after receipt of the ring I was rang by a colleague of Nigel Rowley asking that I contact her, before I had a chance to return the call to explain that at long last the ring had arrived she rang again to offer assistance in resolving the problems.

It seems that if you address any problems you have with Auction World TV to Nigel Rowley he quickly gets involved and gets results. Emails to their Customer Service Dept went unanswered and telephone calls to their Customer Service is just a complete waste of time, I dread receiving the telephone bill as I know that in trying to resolve this matter I s
pent at least 3 hours on the telephone over a period of 10 days and at 0.60p per minute I am looking at £108 just on calls to Auction World TV.

I shall be having the ring valued to see if I have indeed got the 'deal of the century' and also to check out the guide prices used by Auction World TV as somehow the 'bulk buying' explanation doesn't really add up to £13K rings being sold off at £700 or £16000 watches being sold for £600 (despite adverts in Vogue proudly displayed by the presenters as proof positive of the Retail Value) Anyway, I shall add a review on valuations when I have the ring back.

In reality, I am pleased with the quality and appearance of the ring received and feel that it is a real shame that Auction World let themselves down so badly. They really need to start acting in a more efficient and professional manner. If their Customer Service is to be improved they need to carry out in-house training and recruit more personnell. In the meantime they need to make change the premium Customer Service line into a standard rate, it is totally immoral and unethical for them to be charging dissatisfied customers .60p per min to find out where their Order is or to complain.

Despite eventually receiving my Order I would still advise potential Customers and indeed existing customers to act with caution where this company is concerned. Existing customers should not become complacent just because they have received, on time and without problem 'small value items'. Anyone wishing to bid with Auction World should certainly use their CREDIT CARD rather than a DEBIT CARD, this does offer them some protection in the event that the company fail to deliver the goods.

For those who still have problems with Auction World I wish you lots of luck and patience

I am always a little wary of companies like this.

I've never watched this channel, but your review at least wanrs others of the potential problems. I don't think you should post your address on Dooyoo though (for the same reasons I wouldn't want companies having mine), but it's your review!
