AUCTION WORLD IS DANGEROUS! I thought i should write to let you know about a problem i have had with auction-world.tv. My mother purchased an Aston Gerard stainless steel and 3.8 carat diamond timepiece on 3rd May 2004. Having waited the specified 21working days, i phoned up and eventually got to speak to someone to ask if there was a problem. I was told by someone with limited English that the watch was in quality control. A week later i called and was told again that it was in quality control. Another week later i was told that they didn't know where it was. 2 days later they told me it was in quality control. Each of these times i asked if they could tell me how long the quality control process lasted, and each time i was told something different. Today 21st June i phoned and asked if they knew where my watch was, and now they say they don't have any in stock. The thing is, they are still selling them on Auctionworld reserve, which is played before the channel opens at 11am. I have emailed them and wrote to them stating that they have breached their contract and i want my watch, but i have had no response. I have checked on the web and have found an interesting address for you to look at concerning auctionworld-tv. It is clik2complain.co.uk. Interesting fact to know that they have been fined £10,000 for breaching contracts and non delivery of goods. Found that out on the web today. Today i have emailed trading standards, watchdog tv, and ITC, and will be seeking legal advise. DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE! I have received an email today 26/6/04 from ofcom, who are looking at this matter seriously. If you have a problem with auctionworld.tv, please email them with your conplaint together with your name and address to contact@ofcom.org.uk. Many thanks.

- 12/04/05 Auction World and all of the other TV auction shopping channels are a rip off
Those that are not tv auctions such as Price Drop TV and all the others are also a huge rip off
the goods are substandard low quality junk
the guide prices are vastly inflated and completely ficticious
You will not get a bargin
It has to be said that on some shopping channels there are some good deals to be had
but only because the cost is offset by the premium rate number you need to call
and the genuine good deals are few and far between

- 31/07/04 I completely agree. I am awaiting my first product from auction-world.tv. I have been trying to get through to customer services for a week via phone and email, both with no luck. I dont hold out much hope in ever receiving the goods. Definitely avoid them! |

- 22/06/04 But on the other side of the coin, I've ordered a couple of things from this channel, including quite an expensive globe. I never had any problems with the service and items were delivered in a few days.
I hope you get your problem sorted out :o) |
