Advantages: Match Of The Day, Homes Under The Hammer (don't ask) Eastenders

Disadvantages: Pretty much everything else

Me and the BBC did not get off to the best of starts when I was old enough to be fully irritated by the fact that my license fee funds solely them. So perhaps I should take that into account when reviewing the channel.

The BBC offers a very mixed bag of programmes to be honest. The morning part of the schedule is the usual mix of day time television but for some bizarre reason I actually find that I enjoy watching the house programmes.

I have put this down to a blip in my faculties and thankfully normal service is resumed by the fact that I can't stand any of the offerings afterwards which include Cash In The Attic, Bargain Hunt, Murder She Wrote. In fact it's a mix of the mundane old repeats and the newer even more mundane bore shows.

In fact the BBC doesn't seem to offer one show during the week which is a must see show. The closest it gets to this is the long running Eastenders soap show and still to this day I am not sure if I really like it, or whether it's just force of habit.

The weekends don't seem to improve the lineup too much either. As I have mentioned before, I am a huge sports fan but the BBC does very little to quench that thirst as it's weekend view puller or former view puller Grand Stand becomes less relevant as they struggle to secure any sports event of any real interest.

Match Of The Day thankfully provides an hour or a little more decent entertainment but other than that, I struggle for anything particularly positive to say about the BBC's lineup. This could be a signal for me once again to launch into a verbal diatribe regarding how the licence fee doesn't represent any kind of value for money but I won't go there.
