Advantages: Repeats- programmes you loved/ missed

Disadvantages: We've seen it all before

Normally I wouldn't complain about Auntie Beeb as I very rarely watch ITV, never channel 5 and only really watch channel 4 for its American sitcoms. However after flicking through the TV listings magazines I'm being to wonder whether there is any life left at the BBC.

Now I know summer scheduling is always very poor, it seems only decent programming can be turned out at Autumn and Winter. This is perhaps due to the fact that we should be out enjoying the summer evenings, not cooped up inside, however for our license fees it would be nice to be given the option.

Eastenders at the moment is fantastic and worth the licence fees alone, however it seems that the BBC thinks it can be propped up by this only and as such has put it on an extra night a week. The amount of films on BBC1 at the moment has risen, often with the annoying break halfway through the film for the news. Of course I maybe accused of being unfair as maybe it's just MY tastes that are not being catered for and I'm willing to accept that, however the thing that annoys me the most about summer scheduling are the repeats. Often repeats are the best thing on the TV and it is nice to see one of your faves again. However at the moment there are repeats on at prime time 9pm on BBC, including Before They Were Famous which I have seen so many times before and a programme about phobias. I'm all for repeats but at prime time?

Perhaps I should just accept that summer scheduling will always be poor and be satisfied with repeats or videos- after all maybe it will make the autumn scheduling with its offers of new dramas and sitcoms seem that much better??.I just feel sorry for those who don't like Eastenders.
