Tonight on BBC1 the programme Test the Nation was Broadcast. Hosted by Ann Robinson and Philip Schofield, along with a large studio audience. The Audience was divided into various groups such as Hairdressers, Teens and Parents. The test comprised of 70 questions in wide ranging topics that occurred through out the year such as News, Sport and Entertainment. The questions covered a good range of topics that could be answered by every age group. The test could be taken on the Net, interactive on the TV or using Pen and Paper.
This test belongs to a new group you could say that has emerged from the BBC over the last 2-3 years. Similar shows to this one were the IQ test and the Greatest Briton debate. If I was to chose I would say that last nights show was the best in comparision to the IQ test show. I think that these new shows are excellent as it gets the audience to interact with the BBC, also I believe that it is License payers money well spent.
I was pleased that the test covered all the major events through out the year; also I was pleased that my region Northern Ireland was the smartest. The program in my view was a complete success, it was full of laughter from the audience and smart comments from the celebs especially Ann Robinson.
After every 5 questions you can get a break if you wish for as long as you want also you can leave the quiz at any stage. I am proud to say that I attained a score of 69%, which wasn't bad. If you wish to take the test you have up until the 27th of January 2003 I think, you can still take the test at the BBC's website.
