The BBC used to be the pinnacle of television broadcasting and there used to be the old battle between them and ITV. The Beeb usually came out on top but there's been a third competitor who they've not seen coming up on the inside, Sky. ITV are no competition any more, literally the only thing I watch on ITV now is the Champions League ... Read the complete review

I had great hopes of a new revamped BBC TV service after the last round of discussions about the TV License and what it was actually spent on. Yes, there have been a few new dramas and a couple of new comedies but the BBC really do have a long way to go. It is so disappointing to settle down in the evening and find that neither BBC1 or 2 ... Read the complete review

What a waste of money? If like me you have Sky, why should you have to pay the ridiculous T.V. license of £106.00 per year. For two channels it’s a rip off. Atleast when you pay for Sky, you get hundreds of different channels. And great variety. Nearly everyone has a T.V so they must have T.V. licenses, so where does the money go. ... Although Sky kicks ass, the BBC does get its fair show of viewing from myself. It shows some of my favourites, such as, Only Fools and Horses, MOTD and the Olympics. The main reason that it doesn't get all of my watching is that there isn't enough sport shown. I do watch SKY sports most of the time because, you guessed it, loadsa sport, 24 hours a ... The BBC is the best terrestrial channel around and caters for everyone, maybe not all at once but it does sometime of the day or another. It has many well known celebrities such as Parkinson, Gary Lineker that woman who plays M in James Bond and recently a new comedy called Family. THese all help the BBC to be unique but none of them ... Read the complete review

How can the BBC plan to set up another 2 channels when it can't find enough quality programmes to fill the two channels it already runs, and shows repeats and rubbish all the time. The only reason I can see for these two unnecessary channels is to put on more sport, and kids shows. People that want more sport or kids programmes can invest ... Read the complete review

This television station has come up trumps many times over the last few years. It has brought us some of the best live event television coverage , some great dramas, first class soaps, and one of the best variety line up ever. My week would not be the same without the BBC 1 and the following shows , Neighbours, Diagnosis Murder, Top of the Pops, ... Read the complete review

The BBC are going down hill with their sports showings. They are also loosing match of the day next year to ITV and they have very few football matches on at the moment. It is a good job they are showing the Olimpics as that has gave me some faith in them. They also lost the Grand Prix to ITV. The BBC shows special events like the World Cup and ... The on-going debate about TV licences continues apace! This is fuelled by the BBC's stubborness to refuse to give way to companies willing to pay good money to advertise on their station. I think their main arguments are that : 1.they still see themselves as the BBC of the 1950's with presenters who talk "Queen's ... Read the complete review

People moan about the license fee, but I think the BBC is still something to be proud of. It’s priority is making quality programmes, rather than profitability and viewing figures, and the finest situation comedies in the world keep on rolling out of the BEEB. Look at the likes of ‘Fawlty Towers,’ ‘Only Fools and ... Read the complete review

There was a time many years ago when families all over the country could sit down on a Saturday evening and switch the TV on knowing that there would be something worth watching. It was definitely my favourite night of TV. To see KITT from Knight Rider using turboboost to leap great distances, or the A-Team building some cool vehicle to beat the ... Read the complete review

These programmes all come on BBC1 and I think they are really good. I like it when they show good documentaries as I am in to ... Read the complete review

Monsieur, with these retro detective programmes you are really spoiling us. Thank God for the BBC's continued efforts to bring us classic TV every weekday after Neighbours. Without them, there'd be no Diagnosis Murder, no Petrocelli, no Ironside, no Bergerac and (God forbid) none of the mighty Quincy. I feel that the Government should put ... Read the complete review

It’s that digital channel you can only get via cable or satellite that is broadcasted on BBC One whenever its transmission ends. I suppose this would be a bonus to the TV License we still have to pay in this country. Well BBC News 24 doesn't necessarily provide a good service – its main business is of course: news. Call me a nerd, square eyes or any other lovely term, but can't the BBC afford to employ more then one Quizz question writer? For goodness sake. I know I'm sad but a couple of weeks ago, I was watching the National Lottery show, (yawn, snore, sorry did I fall asleep?) and actually quite enjoying the out and about spot question ... As recent articles in the press have shown, the BBC are looking to float certain commercial ventures and evne to farm out its presenters. This is no surprise as is the fact that the BBC is considering providing a pay-per-view service not only for the English premiership but to include boxing. Is this really public service television? The BBC charge over £100 a year to watch numerous repeats and boring, cheap to make, home improvement programmes and docu-soaps. What next when they've finished with airports, gardening and such programmes? I dread to think. Why oh why are we still having to pay a Licence fee of over £100 for the privaledge of watching just two channels when you can rent nearly 100 channels from Sky or Cable companies for just a little bit more annualy. The BBC has lost it. Pure and simple. It used to be the bastion of good programming, and I'm not talking about that long ago either. The BBC used to worth staying into watch but no more. I can put my hand on my heart and say I do not watch one programme on the BBC channels. Reason being? They produce poor quality, uninformative television. I think that they were getting the licence fee money year in, year ut and got complacent. They had no competition for the money. Now Sky have come along and offer superior quality programmes and ...
