Good at times, bad at others (BBC 2)

Advantages: Cheap with many good programs

Disadvantages: Poor scheduling of certain programs, seems to get poorer reception in many areas than other programs

BBC 2 is often far better than BBC 1 in the types of programs it shows for my taste. I tend to enjoy science fiction programs and BBC 2 seems to have by far the best coverage of this type of program, however it isn't perfect.

Like another reviewer said, BBC 2 seems to interupt schedules for any type of sport, whether this is snooker, tennis or anything else, programs that I like seem to get taken off so that they can show this. While this also occurs on other channels, it seems to happen far more often here and many programs can often be taken off for 2-3 weeks several times during a single season, this becomes especially annoying when it is done during a cliffhanger episode. My particular hate is when a program is removed mid-season for no apparent reason and then not actually showen again for a month or more.

Having said that though some of my favourite programs are shown on this channel, or were originally shown on this channel. I find that this is the best normal channel for science fiction and one of the best for comedy too, with shows like Star Trek: DS9 & Voyager, Buffy, Have I Got News For You (Now moved to BBC 1), X Files and many other shows shown here. The channel is also very good for many factual programs, several of which can be very interesting, however they do lack some types of programs which can be found on other channels such as BBC 1 or ITV.
