The best thing, it seems, about BBC2, is the weeknight 6pm slot. Buffy, Star Trek, Fresh Prince etc. serve to entertain those who don't want to be informed on BBC1 or soaped on ITV. C4 opened some serious competition to lame rerereruns of Star Trek, in the portly shape of Family Guy, but the lack of ads on BBC remains a major advantage.
Aside from this, BBC2 continues to show entertaining programmes for those of us who despise the national lottery or game shows, or anything involving Dale Winton. The only bugbear is the unpleasant summer tendency to shift schedules to accomodate sport.

Although the viewer interested in these programmes (Buffy, Star Trek, etc...) would have a very "cult" orientated opinion of the shows they watch, I too, consider these to be amongst the best on British TV. Channel 4 now shows "Angel", which also has the same enthrawling entertainment value, BBC 2 has most definately got my vote for the "cult" series of the decade.
