Disadvantages: sometimes boring

BBC 2 in my view is a very good channel, well maybe not better than BBC1 but I still like it, for example BBC2 The Weakest Link is very good presented by a rather cold Anne Robinson. Esther's show at tea time is good as is the cooking programmes. I also like Top Gear, and I have been watching that for so long, seems like years. BBC2 is a good channel for when BBC1 is presenting a sporting event say the Olympics and then they just continue it on BBC2, so it does not interrupt the news or other programmes.
It has something for all the family, for the children it has Children BBC, and factual programmes like Zig Zag. For teenagers, Top Of the Pops, and for adults programmes like Working Lunch and Newsnight. A good channel which caters for everyone's needs.
