It’s that digital channel you can only get via cable or satellite that is broadcasted on BBC One whenever its transmission ends. I suppose this would be a bonus to the TV License we still have to pay in this country. Well BBC News 24 doesn't necessarily provide a good service – its main business is of course: news. When compared to major news broadcasters (not sure you should try to compare though) it is a mediocre service. BBC News 24 does not invest in diversity of news, or when it does it fails to deliver enthusiasm or interest with it. Every quarter of an hour you get the major headlines and every half an hour a summary. The main news bulletins are broadcasted every hour and here BBC News 24 fails to surprise its viewers, i.e. it’s always the same. Unless some major event takes place, you will be bombarded with a pivot reading the same thing over and over again. It makes you wonder if the editors behind this service are actually there or wrote the script for the day and went home. It’s not all bad though, BBC News 24 hosts Hardtalk an excellent program. Unfortunately, and following the broadcasting first rule, all that is good is to be broadcasted in the early hours of the morning. Hardtalk is no exception; if you have no access to cable or satellite then you have to wait until 3.30am for a decent piece of information
