Advantages: reliable
Disadvantages: none
It has been many years since John Reith first established the values of the BBC. The BBC World channel is perhaps one of only few BBC channels which still upholds the tradtional Reithian values.
What is on it:
The channel aims to provide impartial and informative news coverage on events on around the world. I would say that is unrivalled in terms of quality and agenda and always manages to capture stories from the most appropriate angle.
Bias:
It is the BBC's aim to deliver the news packages without a bias, I feel this value is upheld and there is no leaning to any political party or favouritism shown.
Royalty:
The BBC has long held strong ties with the Royal family and it is perhaps no surprise that the service features quite a lot of coverage on the Royals. You might notice that when news is compiled, stories about the Royals often are at the top of the ladder in terms of national importance.
Presentation:
All BBC reporters speak 'the Queen's English' are usual given an area to focus upon. There will be one reporter for politics, one for education and so on
Verdict: Broadcasting 24 hours a day, BBC World provides up to date and informative news which can be understood by people of all ages. I find it a trustworthy and reliable service
Summary: great coverage
