Advantages: Bargains to be had if you are sure of your purchase
Disadvantages: hefty P&P/ Costs of returns/
Generally,I must say the sit-up channels are worth a look. I think the concept is brilliant, the chance of purchasing products at rediculous prices is addictive and exciting. After all we all love a bargain and you can find that bargain on the auction channels, but please be aware of the terms and conditions associated with your purchase. I fell fowl by being too idol to read the said terms and learnt the hard way!
Return policy is questional- If your return is for anything other than faulty merchandise, you not only have to pay to return the item, which must be returned using recorded or special delivery(which is more expensive than standard mail) You also forfiet the initial p&p costs which were charged to your purchase. So consequently, you only recieve the purchase price of the item refunded. When the initial post is £7.99 plus returning post is £4.25, the purchase has cost you probably the eqivalent cost of purchasing on the high street. I would have kept the item if I had realised the costs involved,I paid £12.24 and had nothing to show for it, so please be sure the item is worth buying and unless its faulty its smarter to keep it, at least you have something to show for your money.
I personnaly think there should be a prepaid return policy, curtisy of Sit-up Channels as a thankyou to its customers. After all, the mail order catologues provide this service, and it creates good customer relations, which in turn creates further business.
Finally though, I must say that my experience of the three channels has been a pleasant one and I have been delighted with most of my purchases. At the end of the day, I think you have to weigh up the pros and cons, as with most transactions and decide for yourself whether the auction channels are for you.
Good luck with whatever you choose.
