Advantages: NONE !!

Disadvantages: Everthing you could possibly imagine.

Bid up TV is one of the worst channels on SKY.

It goes to show the mentality of the general British Public. The RRP is an average between Harrods and Pound Stretcher.

The very first item I saw on this program was a mouse/telephone, which sold for about £23 (what a bargain) oh yes + £4 postage & packing + 60p to make the bid. Total cost £27.60.

I saw this very item in the Gadget shop a few days later for £24.99 and last week in a expensive magazine for £19.99 + £2 Postage & Packing.

If you think wasting money is fun this is the channel for you.

Well...
What you are saying is correct - there are an awful lot of "hidden charges" and sometimes the "bargains" aren't quite as good as they make out, but the same could be said for a whole number of different shops / catalogues / TV channels - it's just a case of not being swept away with it all, keeping your head and bidding as you see fit... just like a real auction.
Perhaps a bit more background info would help to put your views into context.

Yes but think about it...

If you an older person... are you actually able to shop around? Walk from shop to shop checking the prices?

What about getting yuor stuff home if yuot 70 years old and the obly wheels you have are on your shopping trolley (and one full of Xmas presents is hard to lift onto the bus!).

For the young and fit perhaps Bid-Up and other shopping channels isn't the best solution but when you are housebound or old... its a God send.

Plus... I've bought some great items at great prices during the not so peak hours!
