Invisible goods on bid-up - Advantages: cheesey presenters, good for dull comedy, pay more for high street goods - Disadvantages: not all auctions are live lots are repeated, bid accepted for goods they dont have, no response to complaints

Premium Review Is it worth spending the time??  (151 words)
by - written on 06/06/03 (Somewhat useful, 141 readings)
Rating:

I have bought lots of items from Bid-up.tv and found the quality of the products to be good and the customer services have been helpful. On a negative point, I have noticed that if the 'orange triangle' price isn't high enough for them - they will always suspend the auction and move on to another product. This means ...  Read the complete review

I recently stumbled across Bid-up.tv whilst surfing the channels. After watching it for a while I decided to bid on an Amadeus ladies watch for my wife. The guide price was about £270.00. I bid £45.00. The watch went for £41.00 so although I bid slightly too much I had a winning bid. Later in the day I saw an Amadeus Mens Chronograph watch. Guide ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Gemstone Globes (105 words)
by - written on 28/01/03 (Somewhat useful, 462 readings)
Rating:

Having watched the Bid up TV program, I found better quality products elsewhere. One such site was www.Trecon.org.uk, where they explained the difference between the globes on the TV and others available. Basically I believe the RRP is inflated to an unbelievable price to make you feel you are getting a bargin. However one must think how can they ...  Read the complete review

If you can?t find anything good to watch then look no further than Bid-up.t.v. I had heard of auction online sites but only until recently heard about Bid-up.tv which is a TV auction site where you can auction using your telephone for items. They have a really good range of auction items suitable for most people. The ...  Read the complete review

OK, in general, I do not write positive things(unless for financial gain), I do not like shopping, and I do NOT like shopping channels. By definition, they are abject- cheesy, sleazy second hand car salesmen types trying desperately to sell you a chocolate fireguard or some other utterly useless item for £1million (plus post and packing). They ...  Read the complete review

I was flicking through the channels on Sky digital when I came across Bid-up. tv. It was an auction channel with live auctions on the screen, inviting viewers to ring up and make a bid. Well, anyway a couple of days of watching Bid-up. tv I became really hooked on the channel and then I finally made the plunge to make a bid. It was so simple: ...  Read the complete review

What is it that makes these programmes so addictive? As if there aren't enough places to shop already without having it blazoned across our TV screens. You have shopping centres, city centres, supermarkets, electrical outlets, warehouses, corner shops and of course online retailers to name a few. Shopping is big business and they all want our ...  Read the complete review

They want to get you hooked on their products and their television show. Its not as hard as it may sound as it is quite compelling television (if you, like me, have no life). Answering your question about the 3 minute clock on Bid-up.tv.. Each presenter on bid-up.tb usually presents live for 3 to 4 hours. Bid-Up.tv is one of my favourite channels. (Apart from the other auction channel on digital!). Okay, so it's not just the good-looking male presenters I like watching!!
